America may run on Dunkin', but Marylander's run on Starbucks, according to a new research study.
With the U.S. having the largest coffee market in the world, researchers at the price-tracking website Pricelisto.com wanted to find the states most obsessed with the coffee chain Starbucks.
Researchers calculated the number of Starbucks locations across each state, then ranked them proportionally according to the number of residents per store.
The study found that Maryland, which has 332 branches in the state, is the ninth state that was most obsessed with Starbucks.
Oregon took the crown as the state most obsessed with Starbucks, having 401 branches.

âAmerica has the largest coffee market worldwide and this is clearly reflected in the number of Starbucks stores across the country,” a spokesperson for Pricelisto.com said. âTo put it into perspective, we calculated 15,852 Starbucks stores across the US, whilst there are just over 2,500 stores throughout Europe. The sheer difference in these numbers shows the extreme demand for Starbucks in America.”
