Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates held a Town Hall on Thursday night with Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland Erek Barron, Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown, and Baltimore Inspector General Isabel Mercedes Cumming.

A common theme throughout the Town Hall was partnership, and what also appeared to be a renewed alliance in the fight against crime.

“I’m just too excited to be here with all of our partners to talk about how we together go out with you to make things better,” Commissioner Harrison said. “We’re going to see that our work has meaning.”

Pastor P.M. Smith said the Town Hall was an excellent idea and is hopeful Ivan Bates fully listened and took notes.

“I think Mr. Bates has it right, if you come in wrong, bring your toothbrush,” Smith said. “I want some of our sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters, because of their behavior, values and their choices, lose the privilege of living among us in this city. Hard to say, but it's necessary if we're going to correct the action.”
