<p>With funds still frozen, questions are mounting for parents who’ve invested in a Maryland 529 college fund.</p> <p>“Can we just have some more transparency about what has happened? What is the issue? What are you still trying to solve for?” asked Mary Connell.</p> <p>Concerns like Connell’s have been pouring into the FOX45 newsroom over the last nine months.</p> <p>“It's scary is what it is,” said Kerry Higgs.</p> <p>“I'm just plain angry,” said McMullen.</p> <p>“Everybody is getting more and more anxious,” said Lori Delaney.</p> <p>“We need help now,” said Brian Savoie.</p> <p>The state agency’s savings plans are extremely popular, with about 31,000 pre-paid accounts. All of which, are now grappling with frozen funds after an “interest calculation error” surfaced earlier this year.</p> <p>“It's the uncertainty. It's the updates that aren't really updates. It's frustrating,” said Connell, “What I can't understand is why it has taken so long to implement a solution, it cannot be that complex.”</p>
