Grant.</p> <p>Three years ago, Grant funneled $170,000 to former Mayor Catherine Pugh's campaign. She later pleaded guilty to fraud and tax evasion.</p> <p>"It's a contribution, there's nothing else to say," said Mayor Scott when questioned outside city hall last week.</p> <p>Days after accepting the contribution, Baltimore's Board of Estimates approved a $12 million contract to a company connected to Grant.</p>
