<p><strong><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">Baltimore, MD – Nov. 14, 2022 :</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">Dear Friends,</span><br><br><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">Firstly, we wanted to thank all those that took the time and showed up in court today. Your presence spoke volumes to the judge. The prosecutor shared how impressed he was with the community involvement, and we believe it makes a big impression on the judicial system, the State's Attorney's office, and the judge.</span><br><br><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">Today the defendant pleaded guilty, and the plea hearing is over. His sentencing is scheduled for Nov 3, 2023. </span><br><br><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">During the plea hearing today, we had an opportunity to read victim impact statements. They were very powerful. It made the case real, it made Efraim real, and the seriousness was felt in the room. They left an impression on the judge.</span><br><br><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">If you can write a victim impact statement (a short letter of how Efraim's murder affected you) and email it to <a href="mailto:efraimchai@gmail.com" _mce_href="mailto:efraimchai@gmail.com">efraimchai@gmail.com</a>, we will have them added to all the defendants' files.
