Marilyn Mosby’s attorneys want a federal judge to allow them to withdraw as counsel, according to new court documents filed Thursday.

The defense team instead want Mosby to use a public defender.

This comes after the judge on Tuesday revoked lead defense attorney A. Scott Bolden’s ability to work solo on this case in court filings or in person. He now needs another lawyer’s signature on paperwork and another lawyer’s presence during litigation in person.

The judge told Bolden he faces criminal contempt of court charges for breaking the rules last fall when he used profanities in a press gaggle on the steps of the courthouse and kept calling the prosecution racially motivated after the court told him to stop.
