Angela Alsobrooks and Maryland officials hosted a Baltimore United for Angela Rally on Monday at Monument City Brewing Company where she also received a major endorsement.

Alsobrooks is a candidate for the U.S. Senate.

The seat has opened after Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland announced he won’t seek reelection in 2024 and is opting to retire at the end of his term.

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski kicked off the rally with an excited “Here we go Angela” chant, saying it was an easy decision for him to support Alsobrooks.

“This was an easy decision for me to back Angela Alsobrooks and it’s fitting I’m out here early because I am proud to be one of the first folks to step forward and say Angela’s the one for the state, she’s the one for the country,” Olszewski said.

Governor Wes Moore also showed up to the rally to show his support for Alsobrooks.

“Senator Cardin has served our state for 5 decades, including 16 years as our U.S. senator. His mark on our state will be felt for generations and he has made an indelible impact on the lives of everyday Marylanders with his work and his service. The selection to fill his seat is one we have to approach thoughtfully.” Gov. Moore said.

Gov. Moore and Lieutenant Governor Miller endorsed Angela Alsobrooks for U.S. Senate in front of the packed United for Maryland Rally in Baltimore.

The world needs America’s leadership now more than ever; The country needs Maryland’s leadership now more than ever; And that leader is Angela Alsobrooks!” said Gov. Moore. “Angela is a fighter. I believe that if you never forget why you do the work, the work will never exhaust you. And to understand why Angela is so good at what she does, you have to know her story. Angela has already received the endorsement of numerous leaders from the Baltimore region, as well as elected officials, community leaders, and residents from across the state.
