A 5-year-old girl was accidentally shot by her brother Saturday, according to police.

Baltimore City police say that officers responded to a home in the 1600 block of N. Pulaski Street for a report of a shooting at around 8:56 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a 5-year-old girl who was suffering from a graze gunshot wound.  The girl was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Detectives learned that the victim was accidentally shot by her 6-year-old brother after he got ahold of their father’s gun. Police say the weapon was recovered and the father was at the scene.

This investigation is ongoing and charges are pending, according to police.
