<p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;"><strong>Baltimore, MD – Nov. 16, 2022</strong> – The Baltimore Eruv is pleased to announce the completion of the new Eruv "Greengate Extension" which will accommodate the northeast section of our community (see&nbsp;the map accompanying this notice). This enlarged Eruv will now include the area between Green Summit Road and Old Court Road, and between Greenspring Avenue and Falls Road/Jones Falls Expressway (the JFX). This new Eruv&nbsp;extension will IY"H be effective by this Shabbos, parshas Chayei Sara 5783.</span></p><p><a href="https://baltimorejewishlife.com/pdfs/Greengate%20Extension%20Map.pdf" _mce_href="https://baltimorejewishlife.com/pdfs/Greengate%20Extension%20Map.pdf"><img src="https://images.baltimorejewishlife.com/v1/albums/eruv greengate expansion/greengate extension map.JPG?width=720&amp;watermark=&amp;hash=xwKNEpU-PU-7g5d9VXiCq8aRWMCqmlPCmqtY5HW_N70" _mce_src="https://images.baltimorejewishlife.com/v1/albums/eruv greengate expansion/greengate extension map.JPG?width=720&amp;watermark=&amp;hash=xwKNEpU-PU-7g5d9VXiCq8aRWMCqmlPCmqtY5HW_N70"></a><br _mce_bogus="1"></p><p><br></p><p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">PLEASE TAKE NOTE – As a general rule, neither Falls Road nor Old Court Road&nbsp;themselves&nbsp;will be included in this new Eruv; <em>one cannot carry on these roads</em>!&nbsp;There is one exception: one&nbsp;<em>may&nbsp;</em>carry on&nbsp;Old Court Road between Greenspring Avenue and Greenlea Drive, walking on the south side of the roadway.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">This expansion could not have happened without the tireless help from many community members. Special mention must be made regarding the unstinting work of R' Tony and R'&nbsp;Binyomin&nbsp;Goldenberg, who have spent countless hours working to make this Extension a reality, as well as the expertise and hands-on work of R' Yonah Ribiat and R' Moshe Turner. A big&nbsp;<em>yasher koach</em>&nbsp;to all these dedicated individuals!</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">The Greengate Extension will be referred to as an independent zone of the greater "Original Eruv". One will be able to carry from one zone to the other.&nbsp;The original Eruv boundary is still in place and will remain unaffected should a problem arise within the Greengate Extension.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">There are a number of components of this extension that make it more susceptible to be compromised by weather or other factors&nbsp;beyond our control.
