<p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;"><strong>Baltimore, MD – Dec. 11, 2022 </strong>- Last Sunday, December 4, a beautiful showing of parents of 8<sup>th</sup> grade <em>talmidim</em>, intrigued about what they have heard about Mesivta Shaarei Chaim, converged upon the Mesivta’s current location, the Etz Chaim Center. After a few minutes of “Meet & Greet” and being awed by the beautiful spread set up for them, parents were led into the social hall where the event began. Harav Yisroel Meir Lebovits, shlit”a, Shaarei Chaim’s celebrated ninth grade <em>Maagid Shiur,</em> began by giving the attendees ‘A taste of Ninth Grade’, a special <em>shiur</em> for parents to enable them to experience firsthand the clarity, <em>geshmake</em> and warmth that their son would experience daily in the ninth grade classroom. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">Harav Daniel Wilhem, shlit”a, our Rosh Mesivta and the one who founded and constantly guides the Mesivta, attempted to answer the following questions for the attendees: Why Shaarei Chaim? and What is unique to Shaarei Chaim? He was followed by our <em>menahel</em>, Harav Yona Yaakov Lapidus, shlit”a, who capitalized on the Shaarei Chaim theme “Gateway to Gadlus” by describing the myriad ways in which Shaarei Chaim opens the ‘Gateway to Gadlus’ for each of its <em>talmidim</em>. A beautiful video capped the presentations and visually summed up the recurrent theme. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/py9JWEXzO-c?rel=0" _mce_src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/py9JWEXzO-c?rel=0" title="Gateway to Gadlus" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" width="724" height="480" frameborder="0"></iframe><br></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">The standing room only, overflow crowd were then invited and encouraged to meet with the <em>hanhala </em>and <em>Rabbeim </em>of the <em>Mesivta</em> for a highly energized question and answer open discussion forum. While participating in these discussions, parents were welcome to enjoy the beautifully presented refreshments and to take home a small gift prepared specially for their son – a glimpse into the warmth they would be experiencing upon attending the <em>Mesivta</em>. It seemed obvious by the fact that the Open House attendees remained in the social hall long after the program had ended, that they felt energized and ready to spread the Shaarei Chaim message and vision to their sons and others in the community.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;" _mce_style="font-size: large; font-family: times new roman, times;">Many parents have requested an event geared towards the potential <em>talmidim</em> themselves so they too can experience the phenomenon that is Shaarei Chaim! Therefore, due to popular demand, we are inviting fathers and sons to an exclusive <em>Melave Malka</em> <strong> Motzei Shabbos, January 7 </strong>at 8:15pm at the Mesivta in the Etz Chaim building. The event will begin with the <em>Rabbeim</em> leading a special <em>seder </em>in the<em> Bais Hamedrash,</em> culminating in a trademark <em>shiur</em> from our ninth grade Rebbe, Rav Yisroel Meir Lebovits. We'll then proceed to our spacious social hall for a delicious <em>Melave Malka, music</em> and opportunities to hear from other members of the Shaarei Chaim <em>hanhala</em>. Besides being <em>geshmake</em>, this <em>seder</em> and <em>Melava Malka</em> will be a unique opportunity for fathers and sons to see other <em>bachurim</em>/families who are interested in the Mesivta, and a chance to experience the <em>Mesivta</em> and interact with some of their current <em>talmidim</em> first-hand.
