<p>&nbsp;Despite his history of support for term limits, Mayor Brandon Scott has remained noticeably quiet on Councilman Ryan Dorsey’s attempt to quickly repeal them.</p> <p>Last week, Dorsey introduced legislation that would potentially overturn the newly passed term limits. It comes just one month after 72% of voters passed the measure.</p> <p>"Question K’s effect will be to strip voters of their choice," Councilman Dorsey said during a city council hearing last week.</p> <p>Dorsey's bill would put the question back on the ballot in 2024. This time, asking voters to repeal the term limits they just put in place.</p> <p>"The people lined up to fill the seat are more likely to have been bought and paid for by wealthy and powerful interests, just like Question K itself," said Dorsey.</p> <p>Council members Odette Ramos, Danielle McCray, and Kristerfer Burnett all agreed to sponsor the bill, while others, like councilman Yitzy Schleifer, spoke out against it.</p> <p>"To completely repeal it is a slap in the face to voters," said Schleifer.</p> <p>Over the last week, FOX 45 has pressed Mayor Scott several times for where he stands on this issue. We’ve asked if he supports Dorsey’s proposal, as well as what message his proposal send to voters who overwhelmingly passed term-limits?</p> <p>Those questions still going ignored Tuesday.</p>
