The first day on the job for Gov. Wes Moore comprised of a packed schedule in Annapolis, and that included a meeting with some of the top law enforcement leaders in the state to signal a tougher-on-crime stance.

Gov. Moore met with U.S. Attorney for Maryland Erek Barron and Attorney General Anthony Brown, along with Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller, who all said their focus is public safety and cracking down on repeat violent offenders.

“Being able to address the issue of violent offenders on our streets, repeat violent offenders on our streets, is going to be a priority,” Moore said. “Both in terms of how we are looking to move in the governor’s office and in our coordination.”
