Sarah Beth Clendaniel, from Catonsville, has been arrested by federal authorities on charges of plotting to destroy energy facilities in the Baltimore region, according to the Baltimore Banner. According to a criminal complaint unsealed on Monday, she was recorded telling an FBI source that she planned to attack energy substations in Norrisville, Reisterstown, and Perry Hall, and claimed that it would permanently lay Baltimore to waste. The complaint also alleges that Clendaniel collaborated with Brandon Clint Russell, an alleged neo-Nazi leader from Orlando, Florida, who posted links to maps of infrastructure, including electrical substations, that he claimed would cause a cascading failure if targeted simultaneously. The FBI discovered a written document, allegedly written by Clendaniel, that referenced the Unabomber and Hitler and stated that she would sacrifice everything for her cause to succeed.
