Baltimore, MD – Feb. 21, 2023 – The National Weather Service has warned of strong wind gusts and small hail expected to hit the Baltimore-DC region during Tuesday afternoon storms, according to Pikesville Patch. Additionally, record heat is predicted for Thursday in Maryland, where temperatures are forecast to hit 78 degrees, the same as the highest temperature recorded on that date back in 1874. The NWS also said that a massive winter storm will unload heavy snow across the Upper Midwest while spreading an icy mix to the northern New England coast. However, the storm system is expected to bring summer-like warmth on Thursday. A wind advisory and gale warning are in effect for Tuesday afternoon, with west winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph expected in the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas.
