Baltimore, MD – June 6, 2023 – Brett (Alexander) Weil was presented with the 2023 Morton B. “Sonny” Plant JCC Maccabi leadership Award at tonight's JCC Annual Meeting at the Gordon Center. This award is presented annually to volunteers who embody the spirit of the JCC Maccabi Experience. They give of their time, with no expectation of anything in return. Brett served as Jr. Maccabi Baseball Commissioner in both 2018 and 2023. He is passionate about infusing the six Maccabi Values (“Middot”) of Jewish Peoplehood, Jewish Pride, Joy, Respect, Bigheartedness and Tikkun Olam into the Games. In addition, three of his sons have played Jr/Mini Maccabi and one of those also played “big” Maccabi.
