Baltimore, MD – July 9, 2023 – A mass shooting occurred in the Brooklyn Homes area of Baltimore last Sunday, highlighting a troubling pattern for the city, reports FOX45. While the recent shooting left 30 people injured and two dead, it is just one incident among a series of mass shootings in Baltimore. Since the beginning of 2023, the city has experienced a total of 10 mass shootings, resulting in the injury of 63 individuals and the death of nine. In terms of mass shootings, Baltimore ranks third in the nation, following Chicago with 11 incidents and Philadelphia with 16. Some Democratic lawmakers have been hesitant to enact stricter gun laws, including classifying handgun theft as a felony.
