A Border Police officer on Monday morning suffered serious injuries in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem.

The stabbing attack took place near the Shivtei Yisrael light rail station in central Jerusalem.

The officer, aged approximately 40, suffered serious injuries and was evacuated to a local hospital. Police and Border Police officers arrived at the scene of the attack.

According to the hospital, the victim arrived in stable but serious condition, with wounds to his upper body. Following an initial examination, he was brought for imaging tests and continued care.

The terrorist was neutralized shortly after carrying out the attack. According to reports, he is a resident of one of Jerusalem’s Arab neighborhoods.
