Baltimore Police are dealing with an increase in juvenile robberies.

According to some of the latest BPD data, robberies involving juveniles are up 97%.

Richard Worley, Commissioner of the Baltimore Police Department, addressed City Hall last month.

“As you see the robbery numbers, 223 compared to 113 this year,” said Worley.

Many of the robberies have been captured on surveillance video, obtained by Fox45.

Including the vicious attack of a Patterson Park woman, beaten by two juveniles.

“They didn’t even give me a chance for me to give them whatever they wanted, they just jumped on me and started pushing me and punching me and stuff,” said the victim.

The two respective youths, 12 and 14 years old, were arrested and released just two hours later.

Councilman Zeke Cohen, along with Senate President Bill Ferguson and Delegate Luke Clippinger, sent a letter to the Secretary of Juvenile Services.

“We can’t continue to have this situation where young folks feel like they can act with impunity,” said Cohen.
